I know there’s been confusion about this sort of thing (and no doubt there’ll be more) so I made a simple little picture to explain things. I know there are definitely more examples than what I put on there, but those are just a few I jotted down.
GENDER: Like it says in the picture, gender is how you feel. It’s what you see yourself as in your mind. This may be identical to your sex (cisgender, if you will) or it may be different. Either way, it’s okay! The great thing about gender is that it doesn’t matter, because it’s something that only you can figure out.

SEX: And, like in the picture once again, sex is completely biological. This is the genitals you are born with, such as vagina, penis, or, sometimes, both. Don’t feel comfortable with the sex you were born with? Have no fear! There are plenty of surgeries you can look into to correct your sex so you are more comfortable with your body.

The most important thing is to be comfortable with both your gender and sex. Do some research and experiment, so you can find out who you are and what you feel most comfortable with. But if you don’t want to label yourself, then there is no need. Just be you, and that’s all you can do!
